Hello All,
I have a newly purchased CZ 97B that came with the thin black aluminum CZ grips and fiber optic front sight. I like the aluminum grips and the gun fit with these grips but would like to enhance the grip texture.
I am aware of and considering LOK Bogie grips but I am also interested in the aluminum grips offered by CZ Custom Shop that appear to offer a new checkering pattern according to the CZC website below.
https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/grips/97b/cz-97b-aluminum-black-checker-grips.html
Has anyone compared these new CZ Custom aluminum grips for the CZ 97 to the factory supplied aluminum grips. If so, how do they compare in thickness and grip texture?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
Best regards,
Keith

You mention that you are considering the LOK bogies. While I have no experience with the CZ Custom aluminum grips, I don't they will be as grippy as the G-!0 that LOK uses. I now have a pair of palm swell ridgebacks on my 97. I had put a pair of these on my Shadow 2 awhile back and really liked them. They feel great, look great and the fit and finish is absolutely perfect!

LOK Palm swell bogies are the best grips for any cz 😎

I've also come to this conclusion, at least for non-carry guns.

Thank you to each that replied to my message. Looks like I will either have to purchase the CZ Custom aluminum grips and compare them to my existing grips or just go with the LOK Palm Swell Bogies.
I'm reluctant to go with palm swell grips because I already have issues reaching and activating the Magazine Release on the CZ-97B with the factory supplied black aluminum grips despite having medium-large sized hands and long fingers. I have to either change my strong hand grip or use my week hand to activate the mag release on this gun.
I have ordered an Extended Magazine Release from CGW which I hope resolves this issue and allows me to consider palm swell grips.
Best regards,
Keith

Lok Bogies are great and very aggressive. They come in three thickness variants: thin, standard, and palm swell. They also have the two styles, the standard 75 series and the Shadow 2 series (not sure if this applies to the 97 Variant?). The difference is how thick they are at the top of the grip with the shadow 2 style having a slimmer profile at the top. I have the shadow 2 palm swells and really like the feel and fit on my TSO's. I have large hands and run the palm swells on my TSO's.
I have the CGW extended mag release on my 97 and LOK thin bogies. I could use a thicker grip but it is good enough for now. You may also want to contact David and see if he can make the 97 mag release a paddle release like the shadow 2 variant. Then you could have the paddle farther rearward. Once I got the extended release, I didn't have to shift my hand to activate the release. It depends on your hand size.
Cheers,
Toby

An additional benefit of G10 vs aluminum is if you shoot outside in the sun, G10 does not get hot like the aluminum does. My range has an open section for steel and longer shots for pistols. When I first got my 97, I experienced the hot grip.

I seem to recall that LOK will mix and match grip panels. If you are a righty, you could order a palm swell for your strong hand and a thin grip for the left panel. This might help you with reaching the mag release button. Just a thought.
