Enjoy.

Wow, Thanx for making me feel at home.
you get a GOLD STAR membership for successfully posting a photo!
It wasn't that hard... ;)

I will say, she's a big girl. I live in a 10-round-magazine state, so I'll take 10 .45s please.
-
LOK thin Bogie grips are installed. These feel really good with more aggressive texture and no 90 degree edge between the back on the grip panel and the frame. Gotta get to the range this week.
-
I'm a few days late, but welcome to the forum from central Texas. You are going to like your new pistol, especially if you have the grips the way you like them now. It's a large pistol and great for folks with large hands (like myself). I've shot one for years in bullseye matches just to irritate my 1911 shooting buddies. Hope to see a good range report from you later this coming week.

Joe, I've only managed the time to put 150 rounds through it so far and with the stock aluminum grips. I know I will like these better... just need some time to shoot.
So far, the gun feels great and shoots where it's supposed to. I don't regret trading one of my 1911s for it.

Nice! One of my favorites, watch out though cz’s tend to multiply!
-
Put another couple hundred rounds thru it this morning. My wife didn't enjoy shooting it, so she was burning thru the 9mm ammo and leaving the .45 stuff for me (yay!). I'm getting a lot better at the 2-shot-drill thing (transition from double to single action) and quicker on the double-taps in single action too. The 97 is starting to feel like MY GUN now.
The LOK Thin Bogie grips:
The texturing is nice, better traction for my hands, and the transition between the frame's backstrap and the grip panels is way better... but they are too thin and flat. I ordered the Palm Swell version yesterday so it won't be long before I get to feel those. Hoping they will fill up some of the empty space between the grip panels and my palms.
Glad I bought this pistol. It's going to be a favorite.

I'm late, but that is an AWESPME gun! If you like 1911s then you'll feel right at home with the safety version (my preference).
Agreed on the grips. Lock palmswell bogies are king, but the rubber grips are also good. The aluminum ones, not so much for me personally.
check your LCI and make sure it is still tight. I thought mine was GTG form the factory but after about 1k normal rounds, a set of 50 stiff loads knocked it loose. There is a thread about it - common issue to watch for.
that is a Killer way to jump into CZs, KANG!!!

Thanx for the heads up... I checked the LCI and it's still tight but it's only had 400 rounds down the barrel (PMC Bronze 230 gr ball).
Yes, I'm a 1911 guy... wanted to try a DA/SA pistol for a change. The CZ points pretty much the same for me. I think the palm swell LOK grips will be the ticket, since I like aggressive texture. I agree about the aluminum grips... too smooth, too flat, and sharp 90 degree edge at the rear.
I'm enjoying the forum here as well. Feeling right at home.
BTW, do you carry the 97 and if so what holster would you recommend?
-
I have two holsters for my 97B: a TTGunleather Slim XC, and for when I want the option to tuck, a Vedder Light Tuck. Both work well for me.
-
May I join the club as well? I don't want to start a new thread, so just added to Lorenzo's. This is my new 97B, shot a couple hundred rounds, and thoroughly enjoyed it to the point of getting another CZ, a 75 P-01, which I will pick up in exactly 6 days. Big brother 97 deserves a little sibling 75 ;D

You were right... they are much better.

Hey Hongrn,
Great looking 97B. May I ask what grip screws, and what front post sight you used?
Regards,
Eric

Anyone know who the maker of the front sight is, or can post a link?
I know the 97 shares many parts with the 75, I am just not certain about the front sight.
Any help would be appreciated.
Eric

It took me about 30 seconds of a Google search "grips cz shadow", then selecting Images, scrolling until I saw the style of grip and grip screws. Available in multiple colors on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302342567047 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/302342567047)

Awesome 97's! ImperialBlade, it looks like a bone stock front sight maybe with red paint. Mine came stock with a front fiber optic. I changed out the rear to a EZD rear sight and it works great. Call me crazy but I like the look and feel of the stock aluminum grips. (https://i.imgur.com/JJuUFHJ.jpg)

I agree...that's why I have a CZ 97BE and a CZ 97BD.

Great and thanks! I can understand purchasing two. After all I have two hands.

it would be even better to have a B, a BD & a BE O0 O0
-
Are there 97BD”E”
-
The "E" is the Enhancement done by CGW (Cajun Gun Works).
It basically is a match grade barrel bushing fit-up, a reach reduction on the trigger and a reduction of the DA/SA trigger pulls.
I have a BE because my first CZ97 was a "B".
Sooner or later I'll have the "E" work done by CGW to my BD.
