Lost my manual, and search function did not reveal any answers. I have a Cajunized 97B, and am wondering if it's okay to shoot HST 230gr +P ammo in the gun.Love the 97B and don't want to cause serious damage.
Thanks in advance

Have had no issues when using +P ammo in my BD. Don't make a steady diet of it, but no issues so far. 1,000 rounds through the pistol and 150 of them +P.

CZ's generally like the HST bullet ogive shape for feeding purposes. It's the +P power that will result in excessive wear if used continuously.

I use a 16# spring in my 97B when using Underwood 255 gn +P rounds to minimize hammering the frame. I don't shoot that round much, but the 97B sure shoot smoothly with with this combo.
To the admins: Why move a post that is specific to the 97B/BD? There aren't any other .45 acp CZ's, are there? Moving it requires two clicks to get to the original post to what benefit? Much easier for everyone to leave it in Club97

I stick with standard pressure rounds in the HST either in the 124 or 147 grain bullet. They perform just as well with less recoil.

The OP's question is in regard to the CZ97B which is .45acp not 9mm Luger.

Sorry I didn't catch that.
I also shoot .45 and feel the same way.

Straight from the horses mouth:

Q: “Can my CZ pistol shoot +P ammo? +P+?”
A: Just like in any pistol, +P ammunition will accelerate wear on moving parts. It’s ok to use, we just recommend using it sparingly.
The only ammos we don’t warranty are +P+ (since they have no spec to be held to) and handloads (since human error can be a factor).
Cheers,
Toby

Because your question has to do with "ammo". It says so right there in the title !!
Now, if you had perhaps entitled your post "Special question about the 97B", then it might still be there on the 97B forum. But all posts concerning "ammo" are brought to this forum.

The subject line also includes 97B. The post is more about the pistol than the ammo, as are the replies.
When I look for info on my 97B, it is in Club97 that I expect to find it. That it is where I found that I should not go higher than 16# on the recoil spring when I asked about what to use with the Underwood 255 gn +P ammo. Seems like finding out about potential damage to my pistol using +P ammo would be found in the same place.

1. This is your opinion, and you are certainly welcome to have that opinion. However, it is not the opinion of the owners or administrators of this forum.
2. The SEARCH routine here is global, meaning it searches all the sub-forums to find what you want. If you search on "97b ammo" then you will receive all the threads, no matter where they reside.
3. We quoted you the answer found in the owner's manual. If any kind of basic logic predicted "what should happen", then it also seems like more people would read their manuals.

It's just like any ammo you put in your gun you do it at your own risk, +P is a higher pressure round so it is going to cause a bit more wear, if your shooting a ton, then I would advice against it, if you don't think you will ever hit 20-50K rounds in your pistol which are most people who don't compete, then I really wouldn't worry about it. Always remember just like your body, garbage in garbage out.
