Title: De-cocker Problem?
Post by: AlMoore on October 07, 2021, 09:22:16 AM
I just purchased a used CZ P-01 Compact, manufactured in 2017.  I appears to be in excellent shape. However, I noticed that the de-cocker does not return the hammer to the original, "all-the-way-down", un-cocked position.  It goes to the half-cock position.  Is this normal, or is the de-cocker malfunctioning?

It’s normal and functioning correctly.

Your pistol is functioning just exactly as it should. The decocker ALWAYS returns the hammer to the half cock notch. Returning the hammer to the battery position when decocking over time would wear on the firing pin block parts and eventually render them ineffective resulting in a pistol that could fire when decocked.
