75 stainless or 85 combat . Which would you rather use for a carry pistol?
-
I'd carry the 75 over the 85 Combat simply because I don't need ambi controls and they do make the pistol a tad wider. Also The adjustable sight on the combat is a great feature for target work but it won't be very robust if it gets smacked against something which is another plus for the 75 with it's fixed rear sight.
That's simply my opinion others I'm sure will have their own thoughts on the subject.

Stainless is more resistant to corrosion.
Stainless is pretty shiny and can jump out at someone even if they only see part of it.
My P07 has ambidextrous safeties. All the omega pistols have either ambidextrous safeties or decocking levers. And the P07/P09 are wider than that metal framed 75/85 pistols. Are the new P10 pistols the same width (slide/frame) as the P07/P09? Use the same magazines (these days).
You going to carry it concealed? Why not a Compact CZ, like a P01, CZ75 Compact, etc? They are a bit easier to conceal.
If it's open carry then the stainless really will shine at everyone you walk past.
Good luck with whichever pistol you choose/carry.

I am not sure. But I believe the 85 combat doesn't have a firing pin safety like the Shadows. This might cause problems for both actual safety and liability.

No it does not have an fbp so you simply carry it as you would a 1911 cocked and locked.

I have a stainless 75B and a 1994 made 85 both because I'm a lefty and actually like the right side safety paddle. The 85 pre B has a better trigger, decent fixed sights and the right side slide release. I've never used the left handed slide release though. The stainless 75B has an okay trigger up rated night sights and seems to get carried more. Both are accurate and reliable, also pretty much interchangeable. I'd shoot both and see which of the two was more reliable and accurate then decide.
