Was wondering if anyone tried this product. All I want is a reddot (Czech made Meopta Meosight 3 with the QD lever) to improve older eyes. - Hoping its not very tall.
The sight takes a Doctor/Burris foot print but has a QD type lever bolt. Hoping to keep the mount it has

I have the OEM folding stock, not concerned about seeing the irons with it. I can't see them well enough.
Alternatives without getting silly expensive? No desire to get a side mount at this point. Thanks

Bone Steel / CNC Warrior railed fore end? Looks like it sits quite a bit lower than the other.

That is super helpful. I missed looking at the mounted side view pic. Its a no brainer for what I want.
Hopefully they will get a batch out soon- Thanks

Paid for a backorder top rail. The waiting begins.

Bonesteel makes sense. Those high rails just don't make any sense to me. Why destroy the use of irons? Makes no sense.
-
That bonesteel rail looks just like the old Troy and Canadian rail from years ago.

They seem to be pretty solid from the review I've seen. They have MORE set screws to take out play.

IIRC, there is ONE setscrew difference 3 vs 4, and the Bonesteel is much less rigid.

Bonesteel less rigid? Will it have play? No good?

It's fine for consumer use. NEA is what I'd consider milspec and bonesteel is what I'd consider commercial spec. They're both aluminum and there may be add'l material difference but in most places you're looking at 50% to double the material on NEA as Bonesteel.
NEA is no longer made, so you're looking at secondhand market or NOS there, with Bonesteel being only currently manufactured cowitness rail I'm aware of. And their Gen2 lower handguard is a major improvement over their Gen 1 IMO. Still wish their upper was more along the line of NEA.
Search the forum as all of this has been covered previously -- use google to search for best results: "site:czfirearms.us search words", no quotes in search box.

While I have an NEA Gen 1 model the only difference I see from Gen 2 is the permanent bottom pic rail. True? I like the looks way better on the NEA, but not sure of what constitutes a commercial spec vice Milspec on these rails? (I realize that NEA went downrange - from pics).
Cowitness is relative. I have a Gen 1 PA micro that works, but it seems what new HS ones don't. Anyone know which ones so far cowitness with the NEA upper? (Is NEA same height as BS)? Thanks.

Thickness of metal. There is no vertical gap between upper and lower rail on NEA.
IIRC, Gen1 is design of NEIT Arms that NEA bought (some NEA branded, some not) that has vents towards rear of lower and fixed lower rail that also reduces ventilation. Also IIRC, doesn't have side rails/holes that further reduce ventilation. NEIT also designed the AR taller sight system -- or at least the rear sight and stock adapter IIRC.
NEA's fixed detent for upper hg's retained pin is terrible design, but only complaint/ding I recall offhand -- have modded all of mine w/ cutdown CNCW spring and OEM style detent from them as well. NEA uppers also don't come w/ set screws excepting one securing pin detent, but can easily source.
Excepting that issue, NEA superior on all fronts. Bonesteel gen 2 Mlok version probably superior lower vs NEA but don't prefer it in hand given how I configure my Vzs. Still don't believe their gen1/2 (same AFAIK) upper rails are superior to NEA though.
Longer lower rail in NEA style/lines/design with existing NEA upper rail would be my perfection.

This is the rail system I have. I like it, and NOW I figured out how to attach the Troy QD rail sections. (You have to take the top off). I would like to get another set screw and detent spring for the horizontal pin.

Where did you find rail sections? I have the NEA handguard and have been looking for a long time.

Not exactly the one I bought.
Be advised I had to take OFF the top rail to get the fasteners aligned, prior to tightening.

I had not seen this Gen. 2 Bonesteel lower hand guard.
Kind of wish they’d done a standard M-lok type all the way around rather than this hybrid M-lok - picatinny / cheese grater design.
How’s it feel in the hand?

Backorder from Bonesteel wasn't to painful of a wait. This thing is solid.

It does provide more practical mounting than the old NEAT HG. Reports and uses welcome.
I AM thinking of using this to mount an optic:https://rsregulate.com/product/bm-1/

NEA/Troy would be my choice. I use a complete NEA handguard with the beaver barf stock and a Kriss grip for a nice contrast.
