Many years ago a friend had a complete DW set, with 4 barrels, suitcase and accessories and sold it without even mentioning it (some friend he..).
A year ago I saw this DW set at the LGS. No case or accessories, not even the wrench. However a very good customer had reserved it (still hasn’t paid it as of today, so I might still get it in the end).

Now a guy I was discussing with about other weapons (Makarov and AKs) offered this gun for $ 545. I bought it, thinking I could flip it if / when I find a complete set.
I believe it was made in 1992. It came with the combat grip and a second 8” barrel, which has some corrosion flecks.
Same LGS did the transfer for free, offered to fix the 8” barrel and gifted a standard grip he had laying around. Pretty nice guy I’d say, I bought a lot from him, but still, not many LGS will be that gracious.

It shoots a bit high for me even with the rear sight bottomed out, but produced this very good group at 25 m offhand

My used DW 15-2 only came with a 2" and 6" barrel, but did come with a feeler gauge and barrel wrench.
It was in good condition (frame, grip and barrels) but the cylinder had a lot of buildup in there causing problems when trying to remove .357 mag casings.
I'll post a picture of the barrel wrench in a follow-up to this reply as it is a "special" tool that you absolutely need.

Here is the barrel wrench and cylinder gap gauge:

The good 'ol 15-2 was my first handgun! 6" full lug & rib. Wood target grips. Only came with one barrel. I had a nice leather holster I would put it in and walk around a local ghost town like a real cowboy 8) They are really well-made guns, if not better-made than S&W, although if I do remember correctly the DW wasn't supposed to shoot +p loads whereas the S&W could. I always wondered why they both share the same last name.

From their web site :
The history of Dan Wesson firearms began in 1852 when Daniel B. Wesson’s great-grandfather, D. B. Wesson, co-founded Smith & Wesson. One-hundred years later, carrying on the family heritage of firearms innovation, Dan Wesson founded Wesson Firearms Co., Inc in 1968.
And Wikipedia :
Daniel Baird Wesson II (April 22, 1916 – November 24, 1978) was an inventor and firearms maker, who in 1968 founded the company now known as Dan Wesson Firearms. He was the great-grandson of inventor and firearms maker Daniel Baird Wesson, a co-founder of Smith & Wesson.
Wesson was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in April 1916. He was educated at Deerfield Academy and Amherst College. He worked at Smith & Wesson,[3] the family company, for 30 years. After the family company was acquired by conglomerate Bangor Punta, he left and launched Dan Wesson Arms Inc. in 1968.[4]

Thanks for the info! I like that Daniel Wesson left S&W when they were acquired by Bangor Punta to found his own line. Well, DW was acquired by CZ, but I don't think there will be any decreases in quality!
