If so, will it be offered by CZ, DW, or Colt? The CZ 2075 RAMI would seem to be the ideal candidate.

I think I'd rather see CZ focus on increasing production of existing models and putting effort into upgrades on those models.
I'm open to the idea of 30SC, but I would want to have confidence in its availabaility, price and longevity before I'd make an investment in it. I don't need any more paperweights.
-
30 "Super Carry" is not something I will be investing in.
-
Maybe in a couple years if the round survives. Such a great concept with terrible timing.
-
i feel like .30 SC is gonna be today's 9x18 Ultra, a silly fad.
-
I hope CZ doesn't waste any effort on this. The market is already flooded with sissymatic garter pistols. I have zero interest in a micro and if I need more rounds that the 15 in the gun plus an extra mag I'll carry 2 or 3 extra mags.
-
I'd be surprised. CZ already limits their production to only a few calibers, ignoring other established ammo.
-
i will put it right next to the .327 revolver i will never buy
-
Since they discontinued the RAMI I wouldn't expect them to chamber it for a new cartridge. Seems more likely they'd chamber it in a P-10M, or even more likely do nothing with it for several years at least.
-
I wouldn't expect to see anything in this caliber from CZ for years, if ever. I suspect it will be another .327Fed (as somebody mentioned) or .45GAP. Time will tell, and if the market makes sense to chamber something in it sure, but it's certainly not there yet. Especially for a company that continuously has huge backorders on almost all of their current production products due to demand far exceeding production capacity.
-
I certainly hope not.
-
I will be honest and say that I have not looked into the 30SC much yet and I am really not interested. Not sure what CZ will offer, but maybe under the Colt line.
-
I doubt it. Are S&W and Nighthawk the only ones making a gun for it?
-
Will the round penetrate body armor?
If not, why bother.

Right now S&W and Nighthawk are each offering two models chambered in .30 Super Carry:

Supposedly, other manufacturers will be offering such models "soon.". Presumably, initial offerings will, like S&W and Nighthawk, be simple modifications to increase magazine capacity, while later offerings will include designs optimized around the cartridge (smaller microcompacts?).

So, because you dont necessarily like small guns, you call them sissy guns? Personally, on hot days when I'm wearing a t shirt and shorts, I carry a sissy 380 or micro 9mm because I cant comfortably carry anything bigger. And when I see these guys obviously printing some large gun, I think its dumb. But I dont call them names, thats rather childish.
I try to keep an open mind, and if I dont agree with something that doesnt mean its dumb.
Actually thats my argument for gun control. For instance, I'm not a bowler, but because I dont like it that doesnt make me want to tell other people they cant do it. The gun control people dont like guns, and want to take them from the people that like them-lol.

Yeah. Let’s see if it really takes up.

Does .30 Super feed from 9mm magazines?
From what I’m seeing, it seems that .30 Super would be a better upgrade for a .380 micro pocket sized pistol rather than a competitor to a compact or subcompact 9mm.
So what I’d like to see is a somewhat scaled-down version of the alloy Rami BD in .30 Super, but with a rail and optics-ready. With frame over slide configuration, even with a reduced size, it should be strong enough to handle .30 Super with a slimmer profile than plastique and a good DA/SA trigger.
Unfortunately, the trend is to cheap ass plastique pistols with bleepty, striker fire triggers.

Never called anything dumb YOU DID. You may carry what you like, I do. I also never said anyone couldn't do anything thing YOU DID. I simply stated a strong lack of interest in this new round. Like has been stated already the .327 federal failed to take off as did the Glock failure known as the .45 GAP so we'll just see what interest there is in another garden variety micro with a new round that's certain to be expensive to buy and shoot and probably hard to find given they can't even keep 9mm on the shelves.
Maybe read the rest of this entire thread and you'll find the majority here have a less than stellar opinion of the new .30 cal mouse gun.

It's conclusive. TFB TV has enshrined the S&W Shield Plus in 30 Super Carry the #1 handgun of the 2022 SHOT Show (~11:05):

The consequence is obvious: if the CZ Group does not announce at least two pistol models chambered in this esteemed cartridge, it will wither on the vine alongside buggywhip and typewriter manufacturers.
-
Are there people in the industry who actually take James Reeves seriously?
-
Hard to tell. CZ didn’t jump on the high capacity micro compact bandwagon. My next gun purchase will be in 9mm. The SA 35 sometime in the summer.

welcome,
the way i see things is that its the job of companies to separate you from your money. So they will do what they want/can to make that happen.
There is alot of numbers/space between calibers so you can expect many more bullets to come.
If the 30 SC and whatever is on teh drawing boards or in those minds have in the future gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling, go for it and have fun.
i have no need for it or any gun chambered for it. I made up my mind and bank account many many years ago on what i will buy/shoot/collect and nothing new is in that list. For better or worse.
im sure CZ and any other company that see PROFITs in tooling up and making their toys in the 30 will do so. "Greed overcomes all doubt"
good luck.

I’m going to hold off until the 30 Super Duper Uber Carry is released.
-
I saw the ammo for it at Academy yesterday. Haven't seen any guns for it yet. I'll stick with the 9mm.
-
The question is why would anyone?
-
My take is this cartridge, while may be good, is redundant and will fall into the same group as 45 Glock - a capable but unremarkable cartridge whose capabilities are not that impressive to overcome the current standard- 9 mm in this case.
-
I wouldn’t dismiss the .30 Super out of hand. Let’s see some ballistics gel dummy & skull tests with defensive ammunition.
If it’s an effective stopper out of a microcompact, I’d buy one, especially if it was optic & light ready.
I’d certainly buy a .30 Super before I ever buy a $$$$ copy of the obsolete, unergonomic Browning HP, which seems to be the current fad.
-
It really doesn't do anything remarkable that other calibers don't already do. I doubt anyone will even be talking about it in a few years.
-
Well, we certainly don’t want the gun industry to waste time and resources trying to be innovative! Nobody ever got anywhere with new ideas!! Harrumph!!!!
Handgun optics, lights and lasers? Who needs ‘em???
Everybody knows that 9mm is weak and ineffective - not like the good ol’ .45 ACP in 230 grain ball — out of a good ol’ all steel 1911 with tiny fixed sights…come to think of it, nobody really needs anything but a good ol’ Single Action Revolver in .45 Long Colt!!! Automatics are way too complicated and unreliable!!
HARRUMPH!!!!
-
We can't even get CZ to make a 10mm, for which there is a market.
They would be foolish to make the 30sc, it is the new 45GAP or maybe 32 NAA, no wait 25 NAA. Ah hell it's a waste, plain and simple. ;D

I'm not at all suggesting that the industry shouldn't be innovative. I just don't find anything truly all that 'innovative' about .30SC.
And launching a totally new caliber at a time when neither ammo nor gun manufacturers can even remotely keep up with demand for existing calibers seems like spectacularly stupid timing.
But real innovation? Bring it.
