Title: FKBRNO "Blind Sniper" rifle
Post by: rdcinhou on April 04, 2022, 03:15:47 PM
While searching for more information on the FKBRNO International website about the PSD-C, I came across their "BLIND SNIPER" rifle.

It looks like CZUB isn't the only Czech company that comes up with strange numbers or name designations for their guns.

This 2016 link from TFB (The Firearm Blog) links to the video that is on the FKBRNO website and even copies some of the information from there.

Basically, they brainstormed about the problems that existing sniper rifles have and the difficulties with training to be a sniper and came up with a solution.

Their premise...with this gun and half hour of practice, you can be an effective sniper out to 800 yards.

It is in FK 6.5 SE, but a proprietary bullet (what else from FK?), a conical barrel and a unique, proprietary dual rifling.

I've written to FKBRNOUS to see if they intend to make any available in the US and what it might cost.

Meh.

I’d rather they actually start producing the long-promised pistol brace for the PSD handgun and build a decent PCC in 7.5 FK Brno.

Reading up on the 6.5 SE (Swedish) round and its history, it appears that FKBRNO chose it to have a custom projectile in that it had a low recoil compared to other sniper rounds and at the 2000+ f/s speed had a flat enough trajectory that it could be matched with a custom reticle scope to make sighting and aiming easier for the novice marksman.

The conical barrel in my opinion is to reduce the overall carry weight--a problem with a fully equipped conventional sniper rifle.

I'm curious though to get more details on their special rifling.

FKBRNOUS responded to my queries:

1. There do not seem to be any plans to import the "Blind Sniper" rifle to the US, but they promised to let me know if they do.

2. The paperwork is ready for the PSD-C to be imported, but they have not yet received one to supply to BATF for evaluation.

How did you contact them? I want to find out what’s going on with the PSD brace.

Thanks!

I sent an email to them:  info@fkbrnous.com.

The below link has a phone number, although in the past they haven't been good about returning phone calls.

Further update:

I heard back from FKBRNO and they have discontinued production of the BLIND SNIPER rifle.

Still no word on when the FKBRNO PSD-C might be available in the US.

The word I heard in the last few weeks is that FK Brno is NOT out of business. They’re just having the Italian Firearms Group (Tanfoglio) market their guns now instead doing it themselves, probably all for the better.

My bad, it is FKBRNOUS that is out of business, not FKBRNO.
