Target Sports USA is sending out notices that they have ammo and primers in stock.

Yup. Received my notification as well. $599 for 5K pieces of primers with free shipping.
-
Thanks Mr. Wobbly, Is $120.00 the "new" norm for 1K primers?????
-
$120 is probably the new norm if they are shipping “free.” No hazmat charges?
I’ve been getting lucky at my local shop but they are running between $75 and $90 per K depending upon brand. Just payed $90 for a box on Friday for Federal 100’s. You also have to religiously stalk the place to get them and they limit to a 1000.
Thanks for posting.

I've been using shootingbot.com. I've bought 6k primers, at Brownells, for a little over $100/k shipped. 4k Federal and 2k Winchester.

I surely hope not! I bet it will settle around 50-60 per k. That is double what they were going for pre plandemic. Just need demand to drop a bit more and stocks to rise. They will start dropping in price.
Cheers,
Toby

$85/k in my neck of the wood. $120 seems out of place.
-
I don't think we'll know where primer prices will settle until Federal resumes selling them to the public. Over the last few weeks factory ammo availability has greatly improved, at least in my area(East TN).

Thanks Smitty. I just signed up and set up alerts for some powder and primers.

Same around here, about $85 per K before taxes. But that same price online ballons with tax, hazmat and delivery fees. $120 all in, to your door, is probably near average these days. But that's for name brand stuff. I'm not familiar with the primers linked here. Not putting them down, just never shot any of them.

I got an email blast today from one of the major suppliers, bragging about having primers in stock. Yes, they had them, but I quickly deleted it when I saw $199.99/1k for Winchester SPP and $230 for small rifle - plus shipping and hazmat!
Gee, it's almost like they don't want you making ammo....

Well, they made no money off the primers they couldn't get for two years, so maybe they're making up for lost time?

As of right now natchezss.com has Federal small pistol primers in stock. They’re the pricier gold medal ones, but you can get 10k of each.
-
Powder Valley has a small selection of powder in stock.

Natchez shooters supply has federal small pistol primers in stock.

That's a bit high in price! I'm glad I still have a supply from 2 years ago.

seems about right. no hazmat or shipping saves about 70 dollars. Targetsports sells major US brands.
some deals are available on line from other stores but they offer servicos( from south america) or ginex( bosnia)=10 cents a primer delivered
choose your flavor

I've been seeing primers show up at local stores occasionally for $70-90. They go quick! Scheels sports stores have a good selection of powder.
-
I have bought three times in the last month at my local Sportsmans Warehouse. They limit each customer to 200 total primers per day, I paid $5.18 per hundred.
-
Yes, I also have purchased primers at my local sportsmans. They have a pile of CCI450 and that is the primer I was short on, I now have a good stock of them after a number of trips (with my wife) to pickup 400 at a time ($55/k).
I feel like maybe it is starting to ease. It seems like the shelfs were plenty stocked with ammo the last couple of months and thus I'm hoping the components start showing up again.
Cheers,
Toby

It may be starting to ease- my local indoor range had Federal Magnum for $159.95/1000 a few weeks ago,
was in there today and they were now marked at $129.95/1000. If I wait a few more weeks, maybe they will get close to what I would pay, but I have enough for about 18 months of shooting, so no rush. 8)

Wow, some good prices for you guys near Sportsman Warehouses! I don't need any, but still check. I'm still seeing mostly about $90 per K for normal primers, and very limited stock. Higher for BR primers.
-
I'm 75 and I've been shooting and reloading my own ammo for over 45 years but with me being retired and prices going sky high on everything I may need to find a new hobby. If I hadn't stockpiled components every election year when it looked like the stuff was going to hit the fan me and several of my close friends would have run out of primers a year ago.
I refuse to pay $100 for a thousand primers so I have stopped sharing and when my stockpile of primers are gone I'll say goodbye to a life long hobby.

This site seems way too good to be true. I suspect it is a scam.
primersreloadshop.com
Can anyone vouch for them?
They were advertising as In Stock, 1,000 SPP for $40.

It’s a scam site. They don’t offer credit card payments. Instead, they only allow Zelle, cash app, bitcoin etc.

Just got an email flier advertising several sizes of primers for $549/5K from Target Sports USA.
-
I got 5k LPP from Midsouth shooters for $89 plus hazmat plus taxes, all told it was $511 to my door, about $100 cheaper than Target Sports, still 10 cents per. 8)

I got a brief reprieve today at the range when I heard a guy say he wished he could trade some reloading supplies for ammo. He had sold off all his reloading equipment about 10 years ago but still had many shotgun and pistol primers in storage. I traded him three 420 round cans of Lake City 5.56 for two sealed cases of Federal small pistol and several thousand CCI large pistol primers. I passed on the shotgun primers because they were loose in a cardboard barrel but
the pistol primers look to be about 10 + years old and have been kept dry in a cool basement. I think I remember paying $99.00 a can for the 5.56 and he said he paid less than $20.00 per thousand for the primers. I think we were both in the right place at the right time today.
-
Nice score! I still got a few boxes from 2010ish that have $20 price tags. It was early in my reloading days and $29 seemed like a steal so I was always grabbing an extra K.
Of course, a decline in actual shooting makes em last longer.

Natchez shooters supply has federal small pistol primers in stock.
At one time, Natchez did not ship to every state. You might want to check that before spending 15 minutes filling out their shipping form only to find they won't accept your card. I tried to verify this before posting, but they are closed on Saturdays.

They used to have a blurb in their FAQ section. They have reworked their website and I don't see it now.

Yep more than once I wasted my time.
Maybe a year or 2 ago they had a sweet deal on the RCBS Chargemaster and I ordered it, shipping was prompt. Metro Atlanta area. They used to ship south of the gnat line in Georgia but not above that.

Locally primers are gone again...but percussion caps are starting to trickle in. Might shoot the 1858 while waiting for primers! 8)
