Title: CZ 52 firing pin. Harrington 52-2
Post by: Rule3 on May 14, 2022, 11:12:49 AM
Sorry if this is a rehashed topic.

Finally got a really nice 52, Been sitting in the LGS safe for a long time. Doubt it was fired much after the arsenal refinish,

I shot it last weekend is it crazy accurate even with surplus Bulgarian ammo (corrosive) Trigger is not that bad, I shoot a lot of semis and revolvers

Anyway, is the Harrington FP worth the money??

I wrote to them and they are very secretive on how it achieves  the amazing drop in trigger pull?? :-X They say it is proprietary. OK fine. :)

They use terms that are not part of the CZ parts list.??

Only thing I can figure is the the FP retractor is polished and the FP retractor spring is lighter?? Other than that how can a FP reduce trigger pull?? Does their FP detent not have the notch in it? Is it a complete round circle, they kinda hide it in the pictures??

They call it "firing pin, firing pin return spring, firing pin detent, and firing pin detent spring." ???

Schematic calls it a retractor/lock

Then they say: Warning! The Harrington CZ-52-2, CZ-52-3 and CZ-50/70-2 firing pin kits effectively disable the firing pin block safety. Instead we use a spring return to retract the firing pin

Well what he heck is a FP block safety?????? No such term on the schematic?? Is that the retractor, detent ???????

I have done trigger jobs on striker fired guns and part of that was the striker block (polish) and reduced block spring.

Even though I could I do not want to tear into the gun and stone/polish internal trigger parts nor do I want to modify the extractor.

I have read the pinned thread on trigger job.

Thanks for any assistance

I have installed all of the Harrington parts. I think it was the number to firing pin. That definitely reduced the trigger pull significantly. Polishing the internals did a lot more. I would suggest installing the new rollers. The extractor installation is quite simple. I also installed an extended slide release. I can't remember who made that. I don't think it was Harrington. The measured trigger pull after this work is now about 2 1/2 pounds on the average.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the regular firing pin from Numrichs and polished the FP retractor/lock.
I may get brave and detail strip and polish parts. Cannot find a GOOD video on complete disassembly. There is a good PDF
I have done more difficult guns (more parts) but had videos to double check.

Parts are hard to find if I screw up! :-[
