Title: CZ 75D Compact EZ (lighter springs)
Post by: Slackdaddy on June 15, 2022, 06:26:33 PM
My RAMI has the Cajun "Short reset kit" installed and reduced the SA and DA trigger pull, I like where is at.

Wife just bought a CZ 75D Compact, I plan on the short rest kit and polishing the internals.
BUT, she wants to slightly reduce the racking tension.
I understand racking with the hammer cocked does reduce some racking effort.

What side effects should I be worried about running a lighter recoil spring?
What # recoil spring can you safely run with out chance of negative side effects?

I measured the trigger pull: SA = 3-3/4,,  DA = 9-1/2

She runs typ 115g FMJ practice rounds (Win White box, Federal, etc)
And 115g JHP standard load.

Thanks,
Slack

With a lighter main spring and an 11lb recoil spring it should be acceptable and provide years of reliable service.   I'd keep a spare slide stop and replace the springs every 5-8k.

This assumes you are installing the srs kit as well for reliable ignition.

I'd talk to cgw to see if you can run lighter without issue.   I'd worry about slide stops.

Cheers,
Toby

Thanks for the responses.
I will be installing the SRS kit,
I'll talk to CGW on what main and recoil springs I should run.

Thanks,
