I hope it is OK to ask on this board. I signed up for a concealed carry class and I am thinking about picking up a single stack EDC. I am wondering if someone out there has experience with the Walther CCP M2+? It seems to be either unreliable or really picky with ammo types. There are plenty of fine options but for some odd reason the CCP resonates with me. I cannot explain it.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Looks like they dusted off a gas delayed blowback design. Breech isn’t locked.
I’m not going to disparage. It worked with the P7 but I can see where the gas timing could be affected by lower pressure loads or heavy bullet weights. I’m postulating, but slow powders could also be a problem. Regardless, a lot of heat and fouling is going to be trapped in the frame.
I’d try and find a range that has one for rent.
A few years ago, Remington dusted off an old Pederson tilting block design and adapted it to 9mm with the R51. They executed poorly and the pistol was a bear to field strip. Walther isn’t Remington so I’d also be interested to hear from someone with 1st hand knowledge.

I own a CCP 380.
Pros:
Quite accurate for its size.
Decent sights out of the box.
Obvious round loaded indicator.
Reliable, no jams for me after approximately 200 rds.
Cons:
A very long trigger reset, almost like a revolver. Trigger breaks a few mm from the actual frame. The pull weight is maybe 5lbs.
Conclusion:
It's a decent training or deep concealment gun. The trigger pull is very "safe", in the sense that the reset is so long it would be very hard to have an accidental discharge. But the trade off is slower follow up shots.
Think of it as a semi auto LCR.

Thanks for the feedback. Some manufacturers like S&W (EZ), SIG and CZ are offering rebates or dropping prices. Makes me wonder if something juicy is about to be released and I should hold off. Going to check out the P-10M today to see how small the grip is. Gotta give CZ some love. The PPS M2 is a solid option also. In the back of my mind I'd like to have something the wifey can handle...as a back-up. I am just really digging the looks and comfort of the CCP.
