Title: Polished stainless 75b at the range today.
Post by: Rmach on January 05, 2023, 04:36:37 PM
This is how emotions can quickly change your accuracy.  At 15 yards, standing two hand hold, my first 6 shots were all within 3/4".  I was getting anxious at this point and totally blew the next 4 shots... lol.

Man, your 1st six shots are very good for standing back at 15yards.

Absolutely.  Sorry (well, not really), your post gave me a pretty good chuckle.  I do that same darn thing.  I'm doing really good and it gets to me and I mess it up.

The day I bought my new P09 9MM I bought a bag (50 rounds) of that 115 grain hollow point ammo Joe used to brag about using in his P09.  Drove straight to the range and loaded a magazine.  First shot at 12 or 13 yds. was easy to see on the paper.  Second shot was, "Holy cow, how did I miss that whole darn sheet of paper?"  Third shot made the hole the first to hollow points went into just enough bigger I could tell it.  Took me forever to get off shot #4 and of course it wasn't with the first three.  The next few shots weren't either and an awesome group turned into a target I'd never share a picture of.

But here's the first 3 shots.

After that is was what I hear called "a hot mess."

There's something to be said for not being able to see those bullet holes in the target till after the slide locks back.

They say that the difference between a good artist and a great artist is that the great ones know when to stop. I'm of the opinion that shootings similar. At least you have the "silver lining" of knowing it's not the gun, that and an awfully nice looking stainless 75.

I'll shoot at 30+ feet, exactly so that I can't tell where my hits are falling.

You can't get excited about what you can't see !  ;D

Not seeing your holes is the beauty of black targets and sight tracking until slide lock.
OP has one pretty pistol!

I might consider black targets, but it would probably drive me insane not seeing where the rounds are landing.  I got her all cleaned up and ready to go back in storage.
