My brother and I shot an adhoc quasi IDPA stage with 4 targets & 5 steels today. He shot his new prodigy and I my P01 Omega and Ruger GP100.
Has been a while since I shot my P01 Omega, but it didn’t disappoint. Had good doubles on the paper targets and reliably hit the steel small pepper popper at 50’. I need to shoot this gun more often.
The GP100 also did well, though my first run I struggled with the 50’ pepper popper. After that run, much better. I recently polished and upgraded the springs and it is a much smoother and cleaner DA pull. My last run was much better, hitting the steels with each shot, down zeros on each target and fastest time.
Got to try my brother’s prodigy. In my short run on the steels at 30’, I hit each of the steels every shot ( full mag). Nice gun
Fun day shooting with my brother.

I haven't had a shooting trip in years where we shot anything but paper. Down here the range is a paper target only range.
It is a lot of fun to shoot something beside paper when you can. I miss the days of soda cans of water, milk jugs of water, little pieces of rock on the ground "out there", etc, etc., etc. Fun afternoons and they can be a real learning experience vs. just shooting a piece of paper.
Since it was fun, do it more. A lot more. It'll make you happy at the time and give you more happy memories, something a lot of us could use more of.

I shoot IDPA and ASI monthly, so get my fair share of dynamic shooting games. My brother has been out of action games for a few years so I went down to his range where we had some fun.

I’ve always wished that I lived near an area that had some type of handgun shooting sport. Nearest is a hour drive. But I’m blessed with with having a place very nearby (half a mile) that I shoot by myself. Also, there’s a place I go to shoot long range rifle and steel targets for both handguns and rifles.

Showing us some pics of the pistol would be nice. You and your brother did a great job.
