Title: P07 Sights
Post by: contenderv07 on February 04, 2023, 01:42:59 PM
Hey everyone, I'm looking to see if anyone has any recommendations on sights. The only thing that I have to have is them be bright and orange. I don't care if they're night sights or not (I wont be shooting in the dark, I carry a light for that). These old eyes seem to see better with orange. Or should I just get a holosun 407 and be done with it? Let me know what you recommend!

I put a set of Dawson fiber optic on mine. Red front dot with green rear dots. They draw my eyes right to them. I'm in the same boat with the age thing at this point. I did try a set of Night Fision sights with an orange front and did not like them at all.

The Dawson fiber optic sights might be the best for this gun, I don't know, but I do know that fiber optic sights are useless in low light conditions.

Every sight is useless in LOW light conditions even night sights. I have a couple guns with nighties on them and certain conditions render them invisible. Maybe read the part where he mentions using a flashlight.

Thanks guys, I've never shot with fiber optic so I don't know. I'm not big on night sights just because if its that dark where I need them, I'm not 100% at what Im shooting at (just a personal preference). I've got some other things I need to get for myP07 from Cajun so I may just add that to the order. Thanks everyone!

Another option would be coloring the front sight with some bright orange sight paint and see how that works out.

good suggestion, or even with red paint. My fiber optic sights were almost useless at the range, which had minimal back lighting.

My night sighted guns show no glow at the range while the fiber optic sighted guns show their colors albeit not as bright as in better lighting. The fact is unless it's DARK nighties don't always show up and unless there's some light fiber optics don't always show up. So the thing is if there's enough light around to see what's in front of you either set up will still function as the iron sights they are in that you'll be able too see the sights but maybe not their respective colors.

Best sights I've found are Ameriglos for SIG and the yellow/green front.

Next best is Truglo Trit Pros.  I wish they had the yellow fronts, but I choose white over orange.  Orange often gets washed out.  I guess if you are shooting guys in white outfits it doesn't work, but its better than orange/red for me.

I DO find them useful in low light - the front sight with the white insert seems to glow much brighter than the rears so you stay oriented on the right thing.  They also don't dominate the target, so in low light they are best.  Total dark needs a light.
