Title: Twist Rate on CZ-550 Varmint?
Post by: RugerOldArmy on May 28, 2005, 10:32:22 AM
Anybody know the twist rate on the CZ-550 Varmint?  It's not in the manual, and I couldn't find it on the CZ website either.

Have a look in this Forum under the Rifle Frequently Asked Question section(page 4). This will also give you the number of grooves.

All the best,

Found it.  Thanks.

1-11"  Whoa, I was figuring 1-10" or 1-12".

OK, now, ever put a stony-point gague in and see where your lands start Fred?  (If you have one.)  No gague, but seating marker blackened SMKs, I begin to see rifling marks at 2.885"-ish.

The longest OAL that fits in the mag seems to be 2.850"-ish.

Anybody reload for the CZ-550 Varmint in .308?
