Anyone have any thoughts on this rifle in 30-06? I'm considering this vs. the Ruger M77 International.

These in my opinion are the best in their league, it remains a matter of choice. Try contacting your CZ dstr. and ask him if he has a tigger stripped stock, if so your choice should go for the CZ(a real nice looker
)

I haven't fired either, but I've handled each quite a bit. Just by feel, I'd pick the CZ. Once you add in the accuracy and overall quality of them, the Ruger is no competition for the CZ.

I have the FS in 308, has removable clip not availble for
Ruger and single set triger also not availble with Ruger
also not availible with Steyr manlicher and there a $1500
gun, Buy the CZ also comes with 3 shot target at 100yds, you wont get that from any US made rifle unless custom gun shop, the bad points after I bought this rifle
I wanted to take elk hunting, but am afraid to scratch
rifle. but at the price I could buy 2 , one to shoot and one to show off to freinds

one more point, Ruger is junk even their bolt guns,
if you want a ruger to shoot< install custom barrel, mini
14,s mini 30s and bolt guns are all junk compared to CZ
I am in the process of ordering 7x64 full stock from
Ton 80 ,reason is I have always wanted Steyr Manlicher, FS in 280 rem, bought the fiberglass stocked
steyr in 7mag did not like the weight of the hunter pro
did like action, but Steyr does not make there Manlicher in 280, would cost around $1500 if they did
CZ makes there FS in 7x64, almost same as 280 rem
gun smith says he can rechamber the CZ to 280
will get the gun I always wanted for about $600; plus
the FS has 3 pos safety and ( single set trigger)
that even the Steyer does not have, i have not owned
alot of CZ,s but I have owned almost every other brand
from now on even my handguns will be CZ

I would disagree on rugers, However I want a full stock CZ. I do believe the quality is higher, but not better. The only interesting Cz around here is a safari 300 mag. I still like my medium lux better as it is lighter. Im hoping they stock one or two full stocks before hunting sesaon.

In my opinion:
Rare are rifle in these days of disposable rifle(Remingtons new) companies who still mfgr. high quality rifle.CZ, Ruger, Remington, Savage to name a few still make very high quality at affordable prices. To have one custom made would cost 4 times the cost, high volume has permitted such low price at such high quality. Various companies have went thru the alloy(aluminium) stage permitting lower quality parts where possiible without detrimental effect as to be competitive. CZ & Remington are the 2 major companies still making steel quality components in their bolt guns. Ruger with their new barrel facility is not to sneeze at.
Semi-auto rifles are always a finiky bread, these are less flexible towards too hot handloads or if too low pressure will not cycle. One has to be very familiar with pressure curves/time for a certain rifle. Already a bolt action is complex to make, certain companies have a hard time making these, now one can easily imagine to have a semi-auto work is a nightmare. Yet my heart remains to CZ as to be able to sell us such rifles.
