I assume that the rear sights on my CZ TS 40S&W are designed to be removed in one direction. My Holosun 507 sight and adapter plate arrived yesterday in the mail. I tried to remove the old sight last night and it didn't budge. I wasn't inclined to drive it out without asking advice.
Help!

I found my answer on page 6 . Right to left as viewed from the hammer to the muzzle.
Correct me if I'm mistaken.

If I remember correctly, rear sights should be drifted out from right-to-left and drifted in from left-to-right. Some filing may be required, and a sight pusher is recommended.

Thanks, that's what I gathered from the thread I found on page 6. I didn't know if they were a tight fit or if locktite of some flavor was used in the installation. An overnight soak with penatrrating oil may help by filling the empty set screw hole and letting it set. I didn't want to force it in the wrong direction.

If red Loctite is used, removing it will require heating for a couple of minutes to a temperature of 500°F (250°C), applying localized heat using a blowtorch, for example. This will soften the thermoset plastic for the removal.
Take your time and good luck with the endeavor.

I always mount my slides in a soft vise and drift them out. Yes they definitely go right to left to remove and keep in mind if you are ever unsure of the proper reference the right side is ALWAYS the side as viewed from the rear just like when you're discussing a motor vehicle the right side is always referenced as viewed from the drivers position.

Successful accomplished.
Now if the weather would get warmer, a trip to the range to sight in. I needed to file a little off the bottom of the dovetail to get it to fit the slide.
Thank you for the advice.
