I have recently inherited a beautiful BRNO hornet rifle. I believe that it is a late 1940's early 1950's rifle. It has double set triggers. Does anyone know an approximate value for a 95-98% gun of this vintage? Any help would be appreciated.

Check on the left side of the receiver where the receiver joins the barrel you should have a 2 digit number ex.: 47, this says that your rifle was proofed in 1947. What's your 2 digit number

Fred:
It is a 1949, first year of production according to Fajsted. It is really a jewel of a gun. Light years ahead of anything Winchester ever made. My father inlaw gave it to me.

What you have is a Hornet Sporter(Model ZKW 465), also called a Z-B Mauser. Pricewise we're talking figures around $800.00
Please take care of this fine rifle, you can tell your father in law that he was a fine connaisseur of rifles.

Thanks, I have heard many stories about ground hogs that met their end with that rifle. I can't wait to try it out.
