Title: Weekend Project - Extended Hammer Pin Retaining Pin
Post by: Sulpgnir on March 12, 2023, 09:56:29 PM
Thanks to Tok36 and everyone who contributed to the Loose Sear Cage Fix thread (https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=85892.0"), I finally got one of the CZs done this weekend.  The tools used were Dremel with diamond cut-off wheel and a hand file.

1.  Started with .086" x 3" steel rods.  Each rod makes 4 extended pins.  (I also made 4 trigger pins from one rod.)
2.  Check for fit
3.  Rough cut
4.  Hand-fit finish, sanded and polished the pin
5.  Trial fit with just the sear cage and check for clearance
6.  Final fit with the complete sear cage assembly and check for slide clearance

Before the mod, the SA pull was 2.86lb.  The new pull is 2.49lb.  The pull is smoother as well.

The sear cage stayed put when the trigger is pulled.

Nice work, looks like it came out well. I have not tried making a Trigger Pin, sounds like fun.

Thank you for the pics and the action shot.

Thanks Tok36.  I actually made a trigger pin before and put about 1,000 rounds through it without any issue.
