I had an EGW 1911 ignition kit installed in my DWX and the trigger pull is now a crisp 2lb 4 oz. It looks like there’s threading for a set screw at the back of the trigger shoe that will allow me to adjust out most of the pre travel. Does anyone know what size and thread of set screw I need? It doesn’t look to be the easiest spot to access.

I bet the people at EGW know exactly what size it is.

I doubt it, their ignition kit is universal to 1911’s. (The trigger shoe is stock) I’m trying to get a hold of someone at Dan Wesson this morning.

They’re going to email me when they ( Dan Wesson) find an answer. The more that I look at it though a set screw there will only limit over travel not pre-travel?

Yes that's normally the way overtravel is adjusted out on a 1911. Pre-travel on the triggers I've used is adjusted by bending a little tab on the front of the trigger bow on the inside. That is one of those operations that can take a little time since you may disassemble and reassemble the action a few times till you get all the pre-travel out without going too far and not allowing the trigger to reset.

Just an update on this no one at Dan Wesson ever got back to me.

That's disappointing to hear that you didn't receive a response from Dan Wesson regarding your inquiry.

If I recall it's a 5-40
