I purchased a surplus CZ 82s that was mechanically very good with not much wear. Unfortunately, someone had removed most of the original finish, so I had it parkerized, it turned out very nice. The grips it came with were in fairly rough shape, with X marks scratched into them. First, I found a set of used but very nice condition grips that didn't fit properly. Next, I ordered a new set form the Czech Republic, they also have a fittment issue. In both cases, the safety will not go down over the grips. It can be forced down but then its very hard to push up.
The safety is not bent. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, were they able to resolve it? How was it resolved?

Odd. Never had such an issue with my previous CZ 83's, which I assume is the same size.

Seems to me that a little work on the grips with a file or sandpaper should resolve the proplem.

Thanks for the link, I purchased a set from this seller, they do not allow the safety to function properly.

I purchased and installed KSD walnut grips. Perfect fit and function with no adjustments needed. Problem solved, and they look good installed on the freshly parkerized pistol.
