Saw a CZ-550 with plastic triggerguard today at a shop. Real cheap looking. Stock finish was a bit off from usual CZ rifles. Shop Owner was embarassed to have it in the shop. He was going to contact CZ-USA Monday when they are back from Shot Show.
Where is the European workmanship going? Are we willing to settle for less today?

These trigger guards were mfgr. quite a while back(check year of mfgr.), CZ had done a magazine followers also. CZ clients entheusiasm with plastic parts sent feedback to CZ, who wanted real steel. The problem with plastic parts is that to have perfect tolerances you need to mfgr. industrial quantities of these+you need to choose proper plastic(as to predict wear & tear which steel has established itself quite as a winner). CZ has offered their CZ-452 with plastic magazines which looks(because we're not accustomed) cheesy but fonction better than the steel version with the added bonus of not getting their lips deformed. I've seen lots of old Brno/CZ which had been mistreated by bad weather(humidity) for years on end and getting rust pitted below the stock level(not due to steel quality but rather normal in any other rifle brand made out of steel), will this be our future synthetic stock trigger guards for the stainless-steel version rifles?
