How come I can only shoot 3'' group with my rifle while my smaller cousin can shoot 1'' group? Is he better
? Nope!
The most under estimated cause of bad shotgunning & bad rifle grouping is an ill-fitting firearm
As to be able to be precise shot after shot necessitates the same head: cheek to stock fit/eye to sight/lenght of pull. Most of the bad fitting stocks are due to mfgr. doing rifle to a medium sized public. If you have long arm or short arms, then you're in trouble
. A short armed teenager can get his/her stock cut to proper lenght. A longer armed person can get a thicker recoil-pad or get an extention of: walnut or synthetic stock added to the original stock to get proper lenght of pull. What the hell is lenght of pull??? Lenght of pull is the lenght that your stock has to shoulder your weapon, a proper lenght of pull will barely get you to shoulder the weapon. Hence you're obliged to hold your weapon the same way from shot to shot. The position of your shooting eye to your sight obliges the same constant^position approach, an easy economical way is to get a Morgan recoil-pad installed, these have a lot of flexibility at a very low cost and makes your rifle look high-tech.(fonction meets design at a low cost). These recoil pad are available with a straight pad or a curved model, even hard kicker are pleasant afterwards. The proper fitting of the recoil pad & the shorthening of the stock is best left to a smith if you don't want to screw-up a simple task for the pros. Don't forget to put shooting vest or proper hunting jacket as to adjust the lenght of pull.
