Fred mentioned a sniper rifle coming into the country. Is the one at JG sales it? www.jgsales.com/jgspecials.html (http://www.jgsales.com/jgspecials.html)

You got it, this is the real Mc Coy!

Fred:
Why is it not on the web site or in the new cataloge?
BTW say hell-O to Barney and Willima for me.

The CZ-700 is now discontinued(this is why it's not appearing in the new catalog) but was included in the older catalogue. The CZ-700 was also offered in standard configuration at extremely low cost, the Sniper variation was limited.

So the supply is limitted and no more will be made? Are there plans for a new Sniper rifle?
-
Nobody seems to know where all of these are coming from. They were not in the original 70-something that included the 1 Sniper and 40-something Standards. Nobody even knows how many of these things popped up. Some reports say they all have flash hiders and others say only a few have hiders. I want one with a hider so I can get a suppressor for it (and not have to have it threaded locally).
I've heard some interesting stories lately about how many CZ-700s actually came into the US and left due to CZ not marketing them and setting the prices too high. One distributer had "a bunch" of 700 Snipers (the fiberglass stocked version) and Sniper M1s two years ago, but couldn't sell them. The story is that they got sent back to CZ-UB.
Even though the price in that link is a bit high compared to others selling the new batch, it's a good deal. As soon as these dry up, they'll go back up to $2500.

I just picked up my Sniper M1 today. It is awesome! It doesn't have a scope yet, so I won't have a shooting report any time soon.

Glad to see that a Forum member acquired one of these, (you lucky devil you
) plese let us know how it shoots. Try this: cycle the bolt to the back, let the muzzle point to the groud, the bolt will cycle by itself if it's like a Steyr clone
All the best,
Fred

The bolt drops freely all the way forward, but the handle doesn't turn at all. It is not cammed, but a 90degree turn... all the way forward then straight down.
