Fred - really enjoy your insight and knowledge of CZ rifles so I though i would ask the "expert" for a recommendation. If you were going to buy a CZ550 in .270 to hunt medium sized game which model CZ550 would you buy. I must admit I like classic lines and beautiful stocks? TIA

My choice would either be the CZ-550 American(new models will be black walnut)($588.00) or the CZ-550 Prestige(Circassian/Turkish walnut)($854.00). Does the $266.00 justify the quality of the wood? I don't know, I've never seen a Prestige but could esily be worth looking into. Any of these choice would be a fine rifle for generation to enjoy.
A few years back Parker-Hale used to make a model 81 which was very comparable to the 2 models above, this model remains a fine classic firearm. Nice Walnut wood is getting hard to come around, beautiful walnut even more
