I'm looking at buying a Tanfoglio Gold Match Xtreme 38 Super as I have a CZ TS2 racing green that I absolutely love but I want a 38 super with a 6inch barrel for extra knockdown power on bowling pin shoots. My question is what is the size difference between the two frames. I have big bear mitts but the ts2 fits absolutely perfectly. Will a tanfoglio large frame fit the same? No one here in Iowa has one in stock to get hands on feel. And I'd like to know before I shell out over 2k

welcome,
disclosures....
> i dont have the TS2 or gold match. I do have more than my share of Czs, like the SP series that the TS is based off of. I also have my share of EAAs too.
but as far as i can tell/feel, the EAA witness large frame is more or less like the CZ 97. If you can get your mitts on one of those, it may help.
also, why not be the tip of the spear and get one?

I find the Tanfoglio large frames quite pleasant to shoot. I don't have "bear paw" hands, but I wouldn't call them petite either. I've never shot a CZ97, but have handled a couple. To me they feel a tad beefier than the Tanfos.

Personally I prefer a small frame Tanfoglio but a large frame with custom thin grips works just fine.

For a .38 Super, you will NEED the Large Frame, due to the .38 Super being a bit longer of a cartridge than the 9x19mm.
In my direct experience, I've not found the difference between the Tanfoglio Large Frame and Small Frame to be a problem at all, for my medium sized hands. YMMV.
The Large Grip Frame is actually just a bit longer, but not wider.
If you have a chance to examine one at a Gun Shop, so much the better.

JWC007--- Is the dust cover longer on the large frame version or is the actual grip longer front to back? Or both?

The Large Frame Grip is a bit longer back to front for use with the longer Cartridges, such as the .38 Super, 10mm, and .45 ACP.
Dust Cover length will depend upon the Model. In my case, both of my .45 Witnesses have standard length Dust Covers.
Higher end Tanfoglio Race Pistols have a long Dust Cover reaching the Muzzle End of the Slide.
