Some of you may have seen my post about picking up a classic Beretta 92s. I have a coworker that is a huge Beretta fan, so I had to show it to him. He was practically salivating - said he had been looking for a really nice 92s for quite some time. He offered to buy it for way more than I had into it, but I just wasn't ready to sell it. Then the next day he tells me he has something for a trade offer, that he knew I'd be interested in. He proceeded to pull out Witness 10mm, 2001 vintage, which is my preferred style. He was even throwing in 3 boxes of ammo. Needless to say, I jumped on that trade, especially since I had been looking for one for at least a year now.
This morning I did a full strip down, cleaning, and a fluff 'n buff on the internals. Swapped out that gawd awful recurve trigger while I was at it. I'll probably add an adjustable rear sight at some point, just because I load a variety of 10mm. And grips. Gotta have some purdy grips. I've been putting off making the large frame style, so this is a good excuse to get on that. I can't wait to get it out to the range later this week!

Sweet deal!!! 8) Congratulations on your new-to-you 2001 10mm Witness and may it serve you well! :)
If available, consider a DPM or Sprinco Recoil System for it, given the recoil of full powered 10mm ammunition.
Looking forward to your Range Report on it! :)

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about this trade. I mean the Beretta was very nice and all, but it's not a 10mm Tanfo!
I'll take a look at what recoil systems are available for it. The recoil doesn't really bother me - it's the brass launching into the next county that gets me.

I have several DPM Systems springs for multiple guns and I’ve been pleased with them. Not cheap but you can catch them on sale from time to time.

Great trade! Another right place at the right time that turned out great. Imho, you can’t go wrong with 10mm.

Hey, I resemble that situation!!!! ;D
I had picked up another B6, and on the very next day had it traded off for another pistol in order to make 3 people happy, my son, a very good friend, and myself.....
I like rolling like that, making people happy and being able to make myself the same by doing so.

That firearm's a beaut! Bully! Seriously. Bet it shoots 10mm like a dream. And good on your co-worker for keeping you in mind.
Beretta's are much more obtainable, and yes, there's a heck of lot of interest in them lately -- I'd call them the new Glock FWIW.

Thats awesome ! I have the .40S&W version. Mine was made in 1997. I'm having a little bit of trouble finding magazines for mine.

I managed to get it to the range Friday and ran a box of 50 Fiochi 180 through it. Oh my is it a sweet shooter! Not a single hiccup out of it. Definitely a different feel to it than the 10mm 1911. Not as sharp of a recoil, probably because of the fatter grip and lower bore axis. It launches the brass almost as far though, even with a buffer on the rod. Makes me even happier that I did the trade.

Nice! In the five or six years I’ve owned Tanfoglio pistols I don’t think it’s ever been necessary for me to change any parts to make any of them run properly, whether new or used. At least not that I can recall. And I’ve owned somewhere between 30-40, mostly used. Good stuff.
