Title: Shadow 2 slide milling with sights
Post by: Bonas on October 03, 2023, 11:30:01 PM
Does anyone know of a place that will mill a Shadow 2 slide to accept a Holosun 507k and keep the factory iron sights in place? Cajun says it can't be done. While they ought to know, I have a P-01 where it's been done. It looks to me like there's more room on the Shadow 2 than the P-01.

Check out “impact machine” or “primary machine”. Impact machine’s website  has options for retaining the irons on an S2. Almost positive it can be done, slide is wider and longer than an SP01 and I have 3 SP01’s with an k footprint cut and stock irons retained.

I emailed Primary Machine. They won't take calls for questions. I never got a response to the email. I'll check out Impact. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can’t wait to get them back.

The owner of Primary Machine used to be a regular on CZF. No idea if he still is.

I thought I would add some follow up. I spoke with another person at Cajun. They do not recommend milling a Shadow 2 slide to allow the factory rear sight to remain in place because it leaves so little metal between the ejection port and the RDS. They think eventual failure of the slide is likely with heavy use. Other slide millers will do it. So, it's a difference of opinion about whether its appropriate.

The rear sight dovetail on a Shadow 2 sits further forward than on some other CZs, like the P-01. This results in less space betweeh the dovetail and the ejection port, leading to the issue with milling.
