Hey all, first time caller.
I was gifted a 712 shotgun when I turned fifteen and it has been my shotgun ever since. Within the first year or two of use, I managed to snap off the front sight bead. I replaced it with a stick on fiber optic sight on top of the venting rail, but the fiber optic tube finally fell out and I’m looking to replace the sight itself. And so my struggle and questions begin.
I’ve been unable to find my shotgun’s specifications online, as it’s neither the G2 or G3 variant. If there was ever a G1, it’s been scrubbed from the internet. The serial number is 09A5028, made in Kansas City. My questions are as follows;
What variant do I have?
What is the thread size and length for the original bead sight?
Does anyone here have experience using front and rear sight combos that attach to the venting rail, ie a ghost ring rear and fiber optic front?
Thanks in advance!

It's unlikely the front sight thread size was changed, or that the replacement front sight costs enough to really worry about. In my experience, your primary problem is going to be cleaning out the threaded hole in the barrel to fit a new sight.
