H S Precision made the first of them in the mid 2000's followed a bit later by Bell and Carlson. These were somewhat traditionally styled. The other less classically styled 2012 -13 or so stock I'm not sure who made them. I believe that Bell and Carlson still offer the original version. I have one of the original H S and one of the Bell and Carlson both on 527 Varmints in 223 Remington and they both seem to be the same quality wise. The HS stock has an HS Precision marked butt pad and I think the Bell and Carlson has an unmarked butt pad. Supposedly HS had some trouble supplying enough stocks for CZ quickly enough, so CZ-USA then contracted Bell and Carlson. Don't know if that's actually true or not, but that was the scuttle butt back in the day.

Thanks David! My heavy barrel .223 has the h s precision, and my .204 Varmint has the Belland Carlson. Do you think that .204 would shoot as well with the wood stock...I have both?

My 204 Ruger CZ is a wooden stocked Varmint currently in a Boyds AT-ONE stock. It shot fine in the factory wood stock, but my choice of scopes (Weaver 6.5-20) had the scope objective hitting the barrel in Warne medium rings. So, a set of Warne high rings are in place but then I needed a higher stock comb to fit my face. That was the only reason for my stock swap. Everything else being equal I imagine your 204 CZ 527 would shoot just fine in a wooden stock. Bottom photos my rebarreled 223 Kevlar Varmint in the Bell and Carlson stock. Haven't taken a photo of the other 223 Kevlar Varmint with the H S Precision stock yet but aside from currently wearing the scope shown on my rebarreled Kevlar Varmint its bone stock.

Ron,
Are you in Western Kentucky?  I just go back from seeing family by the land between the lakes.

As for wooden stocks, I'm finishing a semi- inletted stock from  http://gunstockinletting.com/  (http://gunstockinletting.com/)
They did a great job, and they have a pattern for the 527 if you want to go that route.
