Title: What is the purpose of the dummy round in P10 boxes?
Post by: RickFlorida on December 19, 2023, 10:06:01 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm more of a collector than a shooter or buyer of modern guns. So as a collector and knowing the CZ legacy, I bought a P10 C from Czech Republic when I decided on a whim to purchase a modern polymer gun. Anyways, I was curious how the dummy round is supposed to be used that comes in the box with the little green primer cylinders.

I had assumed the dummy round and green dots for them is so that you can test the cycling/striker of the gun and magazine. But the dummy round does not fit or cycle properly in order to test the striker hitting the green dot.  It makes the gun jam slightly open since the dummy round does not really seem to fit the barrel or something. I probably slide the slide back to far and pushed the dummy  round to far up or something but do I get the general idea?

What exactly is the purpose of the dummy round and how it is used?
thanks

yes, it is a snap cap from CZ for dry firing. load it from the magazine.

I was able to put the plastic piece in the primer hole with a good bit of effort.

Mine fit into battery just fine, but I also buy snap caps in most of my calibers.

My newer P-07 came with one, but it took me a while to understand what it was!  :o
