I bought a stock 75B today, used, but factory original and fairly new from what I can tell, aside from the set of CZ wood grips installed on it, the original plastic grips were in the case. I have no concerns about the gun at all, it’s an absolute tack-driver and I’m happy.
I am however curious about barrel finish: mine has a silver colored barrel, others I’ve had in the past have had blued barrels, though I cannot recall if they all did, or if other were silver in color also. Is this just steel in the white? Is it treated in any way? Hard Chromed maybe?
Thanks!

Whatever it is, it will NOT be bare steel.

I disagree with that. The silver looking barrels are steel and will rust and pit if not oiled.

I have three CZ 75/85 pistols and the barrel on the 1993 85 preB model 85 is silver the 2017 75B SAO is blackened. And one other WAG could the barrel have been swapped for a stainless barrel, does the barrels serial number match the pistols? Could also just be a polished barrel.

Keep it oiled and it's a non issue. They will indeed rust if kept unoiled.
