Title: Ask a stupid question time...
Post by: bczrx on February 26, 2024, 01:21:44 AM
What does the "S" in "SP-01" stand for?

I realize it is a larger form factor of the P-01, with steel frame.

I thought 'sport' model P-01, but that seemed a reach.

I have tried searching for this, but never came up with the right word combo to get an answer.

I realize this is a stupid question, but it's been bugging me- and I am willing to humiliate myself by asking.

Thanks for all your humor, and hopefully a direct answer.

S=Substantial,  P=Price

 ;D

Ok, BEYOND that obvious one...

I do agree about the price being substantial. However, there are a number of other firearms I am interested in that are 2-4 times as much.  [and many I like that are half as much]

Anyone else have any ideas?

service pistol

Hmmm.

I thought the P-01 was the service pistol, which is why it got NATO approval.

SP = Service Pistol. Makes sense.

thank you
