Title: Max charge 380 v-crown
Post by: firecracker6 on May 27, 2024, 04:12:14 PM
Can anyone tell me what Sierra lists as the max charge of win 231/hp38 and Unique with the 90gr v-crown in 380? Also, what COL do they list?  My Sierra manual is too old.

• It will be almost the same as any 90gr Jacketed bullet fired from a 380.

• Bullet weight and material touching the bore are 95% of the issue.

• Then, begin at the Starting Load and work up, not exceeding the Max Velocity listed with the Max Load in your load data.

It is pretty easy to find the info, the internet is your friend, hope this helps. Remember to start LOW and work up. This is a different bullet but the same weight, that's why ya use the "starting" load info.

Thank you for the replies.  No luck on the internet and I'm not really trying to work up a load.   I've some factory second v-crowns and thought I would load up some to factory length to see if my pistol likes them before I pay $1 a round for my carry gun.  I just went and bought a box of factory rounds; they measure .930

When SIG ammo started up (a year ago) they were having some terrible issues with quality control. Hopefully that's all under control now.
