From the booboos I've seen on arfcom the bullet (.300 BO) is compressed severely into the .223 barrel and ends up part war between the chamber and muzzle.
The receiver (upper) usually blows out and is broken/swelled beyond repair. The bolt is also damaged beyond repair. The magazine usually blows out.
The Bren is tough.
On the AR, the receiver and bolt damaged from the pressure my be the reason the bullet doesn't exit the barrel. Since the Bren held together the pressure pushed the .30 caliber bullet right on out of the barrel after resizing it to .223.

Exactly. I would love to see what that bullet looked like after going down that bore. That is quite impressive.

The actual military Bren 2 is obviously a great assault rifle: lightweight, handy, robust and reliable.
I understand that one of the chief differences internally between the military rifle and the bastardized semi-auto Ms version that CZ foisted on the civilian market is that the bolt on the military gun features two spring-loaded tungsten weights that apparently slow and smooth out the action when cycling. Would love to get ahold of one of those military bolts!!

The weights are for full auto use to help prevent bolt bounce (like the "rate reducer" on AKs). It's mostly to prevent out of battery discharges on some weapons or jams triggered by anti-out of battery discharge devices in full auto. It's deemed often to be unnecessary on semi-auto weapons (I don't know why) or maybe to get around NFA/ATF stuff.
In Europe, the civilian clones of the FB Grot also don't use full auto bolt carriers with the weights not installed. Though oddly also in Europe, the HK243 (civilian G36 clone made by HK), though I'm not sure if it uses a full-auto rated bolt carrier (I believe that the G36 also uses weights in the bolt carrier to reduce/prevent bolt bounce), it uses an automatic firing pin safety missing from mil-spec G36s (though HK416s/MR223s, HK417s/MR308s, I think maybe HK MR556s and MR762s, and for sure HK433s and 437s use the same type of automatic firing pin safety).

All I see are military Bren 2s running like proverbial well-oiled machines on full-auto while our ersatz civvie versions are often choking on semi - auto. No doubt the extra mass of the Tungsten weights contribute something.

Which is one reason I decided to just stick with the old AR15 rifles/carbines.
I made one short foray into non AR15 rifles a few years back and bought a SIG 556R. What happened? SIG stopped making them and moved on to the next cool rifle design. And then they quit making that one and moved on to the next/next cool rifle design, too. I don't even stop and look at SIG guns at the gun shows anymore.
Oh, they quit making my SIG pistol, too.

Just judging by the context of the video, the rifle was worn out and scheduled to be destroyed anyway, we can assume that barrel was completely shot out and I'm guessing had next to zero rifling left.
That could have aided in this situation.

That is possible, I think the only way to be sure is to have someone over there grab about 3 or 4 rifles and try them each with continuous camera shots.
