Title: Problems with Shadow2 reset with CWG SAO trigger
Post by: Kuggoz on August 24, 2024, 10:43:34 AM
So I installed the CGW SAO trigger (with the new trigger spring) as well as their sear/sear spacer and during the installation everything seemed to work fine with clear and audible reset. However when I put the slide on the gun, I can no longer feel or hear the reset. If I take the slide out to adjust the pre-travel screw, the reset seems to somehow work again as it should with clear feel and audible click. Adjusting the screws does not seem to have any effect on this, as the result is the same.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?

Was this gun already SAO?  If not, you need to remove the disconnector.

No it was not. I have installed the race hammer, so there is no disconnector. I forgot to mention it in the first post.

Hard to diagnose, but I will say having the slide on pushes the trigger bar down.  The spring under the bar can slip off.  Wouldn't hurt to watch a youtube video with a full disassembly / reassembly to double check things.

The cgw description gives some more info about the purpose of the trigger bar spring and how to adjust it: https://cajungunworks.com/product/34-trigger-bar-support-spring/

I agree that the triggerbar spring needs more upward tension to help with a more tactile reset.

I assume it is still functioning but your concern is the feel of the reset?  If it isn't working with the slide on then you may have a timing issue that needs to be addressed as well.

Cheers,
