Title: P-09 C Nocturne Range Day
Post by: AZ_GunGuy on August 30, 2024, 02:26:29 PM
I wanted a lighter DA trigger pull and went with the CGW extended firing pin / lighter firing pin spring.  Then I used a spare 14# hammer spring I had (from the CZC tuning springs, the orange one).  Only other change from factory is that I'm using a 507K red dot.

Put through 5 mags.  I used the two that came with the gun, then also some P-10 C mags, both the 15 and 17 rounders.  Zero malfunctions.  Have to say this is the softest shooting 9MM compact I've shot so far.

Going to give it a few more range sessions to make extra sure there aren't any light strikes, but so far so good.

Thanks for the update.  Is the trigger any better than a P07 would be with those spring changes?

Not sure, but I did measure the trigger pull with a Lyman.

SA before: 3lb 12oz
SA after: 3lb 8oz
DA before: 9lb 7oz
DA after: 7lb 5oz

I also oldied the trigger return spring when I did the upgrade, which seemed to smooth things out bit.

I thought the factory SA was great out of the box.  But the factory DA was just too much.

Appreciate the feedback.

About 4-5 months ago, I bought a new P07 to accompany my P09.  I did upgrade the springs w/ CGW’s spring upgrade kit. along with sights from Angry Bear.  Have been very happy with the results.

Had I not bought it, I’d probably look at the P09C nocturn, but doubtful I’d be looking to swap out my P07 anytime soon for the new P09C
