Title: CZ P-09 Nocturn optic footprint
Post by: mig1nc on September 27, 2024, 07:49:08 AM
I know it's listed as the Holosun K footprint, but could anybody measure the front to back length of the cut? Specifically, I'm trying to determine if you could fit a DPP length optic on it since the screw holes are the same between the two footprints and the K nubs will fit into DPP holes.

This guy did a good review of the footprint fittings but didn't really expand beyond the Holosun offerings. https://youtu.be/MpVNbr-hFKc?si=jgGxfbf-81ljkhFu

For reference, this is the true K spec: https://www.optics-trade.eu/blog/holosun-407k-x2-footprint/
This is the DPP spec: https://www.optics-trade.eu/blog/leupold-deltapoint-pro-footprint/

Both the links you posted show optics that share the K footprint. I don't see the DPP listed so I'd bet they may not be the same. The difference in overall length between the K and DPP appears to be 5.7mm so some machining may be need to make it work. It may not matter but if you buy a OR M&P pistol you get a bag of plates and several sets of screws.

The DP Pro uses a different adapter plate and pair of screws than the Holoson or RMR dot optics.  That tells me it's different in not just the placing of the screws but the way the screws fit the optic and the slide/adapter plate.

Yeah, the DPP is physically longer, and there is some slight difference in the pegs but they can be made to work.

I guess part of the confusion is that CZ themselves say the DPP fits, but the specs specifically say Holosun K footprint, which is different in the pegs and overall length.

Thanks, that does seem to answer the question.

I happen to have a p09c and a DPP laying around.  As expected, the DPP is longer, it wouldn't work unless you milled the slide.  It would probably require removal of the rear sight as well.
