I recently heard a Vortex podcast that convinced me that minimizing optic height isn't as big a deal as I thought. I guess my preference is for a steel plate, and maybe more thread engagement is better than minimizing height, if only for better thread integrity.
Thanks,

I had chpws plates for my p10c and F... Threads came loose and never fit right. I ended up going with Athena Precision steel plates. If you look up my name I should have a post comparing the two plates.
Height isn't a huge deal if you aren't trying to co witness. I rather my optic not be sticking up any higher then it needs be.

Thanks for the reply, Whereisit. I'll avoid the chpws plate.
I clicked on your name, but as a "newbie" the forum software doesn't permit me to view anything.
I searched on "Whereisit" and this thread was the only return.
I went back through 13 pages on this sub-forum and didn't see an optics plate thread that included your comparison.
I might try from page 14 on back tomorrow... :P

Happy to help
Tanner was my first Brittany, who I like to say taught me how to hunt upland birds. A rescue dog who was a bird finding machine and a loyal family pet. He’s been gone for many years, but I’m on my 3d rescue Brittany who is doing similarly well on birds
