Title: Dry firing p-10
Post by: parastoo on December 11, 2024, 05:06:33 PM
Hi,
I bought a P-10 F yesterday. I haven't had time to go to the range yet but was wondering if the nearly thousand dry fires are going to damage anything.
Thanks
          Mark
P.S. Like almost everyone says, these have REALLY nice triggers.

So you are asking after you've done it a 1,000 times?

I don't dry fire any of my guns, repeatedly, without a snap cap. Every once in awhile for a function check is fine.

You will not damage anything.

You will not damage anything.

They come with a snap cap for a reason. It's not worth the risk of having an issue with a gun you need to rely on.

I'd definitely use a snap cap if dry firing to that extent.

Anyone who is going to engage in extensive dry fire practice should absolutely use a snap cap on striker fired pistols and/or an o-ring under the hammer like many do to protect the firing pin retaining pin on hammer fired CZ's.
Why risk undue wear when it's so easy to prevent?

Count me in as another who views snap caps as a useful tool to have available.

I have an A-zoom snapcap in my P-10S as I type and dryfire while perusing the forums...

What is the purpose of repeatedly resetting the trigger when dry firing? Doesn’t sound productive to me at all.
