Anyone know if there is a shorter than 16” barrel made for the EVO 3 S1 carbine?
Trying to avoid the headache of barrel removal, take to qualified gunsmith, cut down to 10” (or whatever length is right in front of handguard, re-thread, go back to gunsmith and pick up route.
After re-barrel, I will SBR it.

It’s not hard at all to remove the barrel on a Scorpion carbine and replace it with a pistol barrel, and vice versa, which are readily available on the aftermarket, provided you follow the NFA legalities.
However, it is extremely hard to get your hands on a spare 16” Scorpion carbine barrel if you want to convert from a pistol to a rifle, which is totally legal. I’d keep the 16” barrel so you can reconvert from a SBR back to a carbine at will, or sell / swap your 16” barrel for a pistol barrel.

Here is something to look at. After market barrels in most cases need a free floating hand guard.

Wow, that’s good to know: Nexus, along with HBI, Haga, KNS and others are providing parts for the Scorpion and Bren 2, where COLT- cz-usa has totally dropped the ball. $225 for a barrel is pricy but better than nothing at all!

That’s illegal. You will have created an SBR without authorization. You need to apply and be approved for the sbr before it is assembled.
