Title: A01 Accuracy review
Post by: BarBourQ on February 02, 2025, 08:57:13 PM
I shot bullseye competitively for years and appreciate accurate pistols.  Actually guns that don't meet my own standards are a real dissapointment...
I'd like to purchase an A01.  What is the potential accuracy of this pistol?  Is the A01 capable of 3" 10-shot groups at 50 yards?  2"?
At what distance are the CZC test targets shot?  Thanks!

I had a TSO previously and what disappointed with the accuracy I was able to get out of it.  I looked at the Phoenix Drake for a while but would prefer to have something made here in the US.

Call CZ Custom and give them a chance to make their pitch.  Since it is a custom built pistol based on the 75B design, it should be a 2" at 50 yards gun.  Even a 75B with a tight barrel bushing is typically good for that.  CZ Custom is a great company and they have many very happy customers.  If you want 9mm and the 75B frame size design, the A01 looks like a good choice to me.  I don't have one, however.  Perhaps just ask CZ Custom for their recommendation based on your needs.

I shot bullseye matches with a 97B with a CGW bushing and sometimes shot matches with the 75B, but preferred the heavier and softer shooting 97B for bullseye.

Another consideration as these are now showing up in the US is the new Shadow 2 target.  My guess is there will be reviews soon demonstrating accuracy.  Currently available at just a few places with prices a little over $2k. If you can wait that should come down a bit.

Just a thought.

Yeah... I've been looking at those too.  But, they aren't setup for a slide mounted optic.  The only way to mount an optic would be to have CZC put their frame mount on, and I would have them install their barrel bushing while it was there.

I did talk with Stuart at CZC.  He answered most of my questions.
