I've been holding out on getting another SAR, hoping to find a gently used 2000 or P8S with the Opelika stamp on it. But I just couldn't pass up a P8S stainless at that price. A buddy had been considering a P-01, but ordered one of these instead. I'm looking forward to it joining its siblings!

I got a P8S from a pawn shop a while back and love it. I paid a little more than I should’ve, but still less than new.

I have a P8L, and it is one of my favorite guns now - hence my interest in the S. It needed refinishing when I got it, and I didn't realize that the branding was just laser etched on. The refinish killed most of it. I have a program made to recreate the etch, but I just need the courage to run it on the slide. I guess if I screw it up, I can always sand it down and spray it again.

I jumped on a P8S. Too good a deal to pass up! Hoping it is of similar size and feel as my Tristar P100. It goes on most range trips. :)

I bought a stainless P8S a few days ago when they were $300 that's on the way to me now.  They must adjust their clearance prices depending on how they're selling.  The black compact and full sized ones for $280 are a steal.  It's funny how the daily deals seem to last for days now that the gun market is slow.

Don't worry - the pink and purple B6 compacts are still available!

How well does Krylon cover polymer?

These prices are tempting, but I reside in a tyrannical state, WA, that now bans the importation and sale of magazines holding more than 10 rounds. CA's version of this ban was corruptly upheld to be constitutional last week by the 9th Circus, the appellate court with jurisdiction over me. I see no way of taking advantage of these deals, or I'd eagerly opt for a B6C.

Dye it with RIT. You can get it at Walmart.

I ordered my P8S on 3/22, and it still shows as being processed. The Galloway spring kit I ordered for it (the same day) was out of stock, and it managed to arrive last Friday  >:(

I placed an order for the same pistol on 3/20 and it still hasn't arrived.  I just called and was told that the shipping department has up to 10 business days to ship.  That's a pretty poor answer, especially considering that gun sales are slow.

Why am I getting the feeling that they sold something that they didn't have yet?

I ordered on Saturday and called them Monday to see if I could change the FFL. The gal told me that it had already shipped. When I asked for a tracking number, she said they don't give those out for firearms due to security concerns. Gotta call bs on that, since it would have arrived last week if it truly had shipped. Honestly, I've never had any issues like this with PSA before, so I'm rather surprised at this.

Today, I received an email that my pistol had shipped.  I clicked on the tracking number which took me to PSA's website.  That page said that it had not shipped. :-\

As soon as they create a shipping label, it sends an email. Doesn't mean it has made it out the door.......but getting close. Many online vendors do this. Hang tough. There IS hope !!

It's on their website that serialized items can take 7 to 10 days to ship out. Pretty common with drop shipping. Family firearms and Dahlonega do the same thing. You want cheap prices, this is how you get cheap prices.
No money spent on shipping to the business, the business doesn't have to pay employees to check the product in a stock it on the shelf, no order picking and packing is done at their place of business either.

Unfortunately, when they have sales like this, they get a huge influx of orders and some people end up losing out on the deal.

This deal was also posted on Reddit Gundeals... We are all savages on there. Lol. Gundeals has been know to shut down websites because of the amount of people trying to order at once.

PSA dropped the price of the black PS8 down to $250!  They really must want to get rid of them.

Yay! Now to strip it down, give it a good fluff 'n buff inside, and swap out some springs. I will say that the trigger isn't bad as is, especially after boosting it in SA a few times. Some of the crunchiness in DA went away with dry firing for a bit.

"Boosting it"???

"Boosting it"???

I think this process started with 1911 guys many years ago but what it refers to is this: First of you make sure the gun is clear/safe. Cock the hammer and apply forward pressure to it while pulling the trigger several times. The process can smooth out roughness and often reduce creep.

Haven't heard of "Boosting" but it makes sense. Have been DA/SA dry firing the new SAR B8s using an O ring and it does seems to have smoothed. Irritates my wife since I do this while she is watching K-dramas. Not like she speaks Korean so what's the diff?  Maybe she doesn't like me taking "shots" at the romantic leads?  O0

Yes, boosting is an old 1911 trick. Half a dozen times, max, is all you should do.
If you didn't see my other post, it is now down to about 2 1/2 pounds after springs and internal work.

Boosting, interesting. Noted.
