Title: SAR P8S
Post by: mrcabinet on April 24, 2025, 07:34:56 PM
Like a few other forum members, I recently took advantage of the SAR sale that PSA had, so I thought I'd show it off a bit. For those not familiar with the P8, it is essentially a Tanfoglio lower and fpb, with a slide that's more along the lines of a Sig or (gasp!) Glock. I've enjoyed my full size version P8 so much that I just couldn't pass on the compact. Anyways, here it is shortly after I got it home.

And here it is about ten minutes later, ready for a full fluff 'n buff inside and a Galloway spring set. I got lazy and ordered the Galloway kit for the full size and liked it enough to use it in this one too.

And here's the results.

Having failed to find a fiber optic front sight for it, I went old school with model paint on the sights (my old eyes need all the help that can get.

Now all I need is a free weekend day to get it to the range!

Good work and Congratulations!  8)  :)  Looking forward to reading how it shoots!  :)

Actually, the Slide with it's Chamber Locking Block is more similar to the Cz P07 and a few other Cz's, but I get the point that the Barrel/Slide Lockup is different than the old Cz style Locking lugs present on the Cz75 and other Pistols. This is nothing new to the Sarsilmaz line and the CM9 G1 and G2 use the same style of Locking Block. The SAR B6/B6P still uses the typical Cz75/Tanfoglio Locking Lug arrangement.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but both of those uppers should work on that frame. The orientation of the locking lug in reference to the slide lock/release pin should be the same, correct? That is, as long as the safety and everything else functions properly.

Thanks for clarifying that, jwc. I don't have a P07, so that was the closest comparison that I had personal knowledge of.

That is correct! Here is a pic of the SAR B6P and the SAR K2P/CM9 G1 with their Slide Assemblies and Frames swapped. Note that they were also test fired and functioned perfectly.

You are most Welcome!  :)

Now back to discussing that fine SAR P8S you have!  :)
