Reportedly up to 186,000 pistols to replace the P8 pistol. It is likely the P-10 variants or possibly, the P-09 or a customized model as no additional info is yet released. This will serve as the standard service pistol. There was no comparative trial. Price was the sole evaluation criteria so long as all the other technical minimum criteria were met. No extra points for exceeding stated requirements. The goal was for transparent cost-effective selection. CZ beat out Arex (Slovenia) and Glock in the final round. Supposedly, HK did not tender due to the pricing criteria. Carl Walther was already awarded the contract last year for the Bundeswehr's special forces' P14/P14K pistols based on the PDP line. More near-term supply pressure :D

Hmmm? Wonder why H&K's USP is being replaced, as it's such a nice Pistol.
From what I have read the Cz P10F is a likely candidate.
