I've got a CZ-75B in 40SW and I have been told that the SP-01 9mm barrel is the same profile. I'm wondering if it will drop into my CZ-75B-40, to get more economical practice. I realize that the recoil spring may need to lightened and reliability with the loose breachface wouldn't be 100%, but I was wondering if it was feasible and if so, where can I source a SP-01 barrel? I far as I know, CZ-USA is not supporting it yet. Anyone have any ideas?

The breech face and the extractor would be wrong, the sear cage may need altering, defitly need a new spring, but might work. You would also need 9mm magazine.
May just work out cheaper to buy a cz 75b for about $400.00

Thank you Angus for the info. and you're probably right, it would most likely be cheaper to by a 9mm.

If you want to wait, you can get a 9mm conversion barrel from Bar-Sto or a .40 75B. (It's expensive -- about $200 -- but less expensive than buying a used 75B in 9mm).
I think Bar-Sto has done its CZ stuff for the year, but you could contact them to be sure.
That barrel would be the proper diameter, and adjusted so that headspace would be correct and the extractor would work. You'd have to get a 9mm slide stop for the mags to properly engage the slide stop.

SP01 barrel is same diameter is 40 barrel so if you used a barstow is standard CZ 9mm size, so now you would also need a new bushing.

Angus: I was talking about a .40 CONVERSION barrel done to 9mm, not a standard 9mm barrel.
Would that still require a new bushing? (In the other Bar-sto .40 conversions, the barrel's outside dimensions stay the same, but the bore is smaller.)

Ah HA that what I need they now call it a SP0 barrel
