Title: red dot and mount for 75 Tactical Sport (TS)

Hi guys,

i am trying to buy a mount and a red dot for my 75 TS.

do you know of one or have any suggestion?

I might suggest a Jpoint to fit in the rear sight cut.  If it is going to be a permanent deal, get the frame tapped for a C-More mount and sight..

Hi Mike,

How durable is the Jpoint? especially, it's slide-mounted.

I have couple people telling me it doesn't last too long.
Do you have any personal experience with the Jpoint?

I had been thinking about getting an OKO reflex red dot sight for my Tactical Sport.  I found only a couple of outlets for them here in the United States, plus they are made in the Cech Republic.  I had an opportunity to stop by the STI booth at the 2007 S.H.O.T.  STI is one of the US distributors for OKO.  One of the staff told me that STI has had a fair amount of returns of the OKO sight over the years.  He advised me to get a C More reflex red dot sight.  He told me that STI has very few problems with, or returns of C More sights.

I walked over to the C More sight booth and spent some time talking with the staff.  

Long story short!  I have two C More sights now.  I am curring looking into making a sight mount for my Tactical Sport.

Hi Bob,

did you buy the Weaver mount version of the C more?

I am currently having a weaver mount made for my TS
so I could put a C more or an aimpoint on it.

I bought the C More "Railway" sight first.  I wanted to have a sight that I could move from rifle to shotgun to pistol, (if I need to!).  Then I bought a pistol with a C More Serindipity (sp?) sight as a part of pistol/sight package.

I really like the C More, however I have had some trouble getting the pistol that it was mounted on to shoot reliably.  The seller warned me that this compensated pistol loves really warm Fiocchi 9mm ammo.  So far I have not found any Fioochi, so I have been experimenting with some of my and others handloads.

115 gr FMJ did not work when loaded to about 1125 fps.  124 gr lead round nose worked a little bit better.  I believe that these were loaded to about 1100 fps or so.

I swapped out the recoil spring with a lighter one.  Now the pistol shoot 99 % more reliably, but I am a little worried that the slid may be battering the frame a little.  Plus the slide is a little slow to return to battery now.

I have not made my C More mount for my Tactical Sport yet.  I am going to try to get  a local aluminum extrusion place near hear to see if they have an extrusion that is close to what I need.  Then I will just modify that shape.

I have learned one thing for sure.  You should not crowd that ejection port with your scope mount legs.  Most of my failures to eject have been brass getting caught between the C More sight mount and the breech face.

I'll keep everyone posted as soon as I have an extrusion that I can work with!
