I have five TS-40 mags that have been "upgraded" with Taylor Freelance basepads and Wolff springs. I have been having problems with the followers flipping around in the mags and having the springs bind in the magazine. I have to disassemble the mag to fix the issue and the springs look a bit squirrely after disassembly. I didn't have this problem with the softer spring and standard basepad. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing the problem?
Do you think a Tanfoglio mag follower will work better? If so, which one?

I'm curious what Wolff magspring you may have or might be using as I've noted on this forum (don't remember where exactly) that Wolff had a tendency to not know that the TS magzines are much bigger/wider than the regular 75 magazines. Are they the ones that Taylor Freelance sells with the basepad? I believe those are glock springs. I've talked this over a little with Angus Hobdell and he's suggesting trying the new Gramms spring for the STI mags.

Yes, they are in fact the glock mag springs from Taylor Freelance.
Thank for the great info. That explanation makes sense.
The current situation is a pain in the rear. Most of the time, the springs work OK, but you can never tell when the problem will occur.
I thinks I'll give the Grams springs a whirl. Do you suggest the 11 coil or the 13 coil spring?
-
After speaking with Angus I believe he mentioned the 11 coil is the suggested spring. I picked one up as well to try out and I have not yet installed it but will give it a whirl once my TS gets back from Angus.

The new 140mm USPSA legal base pads are on the machines next week, I have worked really hard to get this underway. We have a new spring that clips directly into the TS follower, I tested the first samples the other day.
21 round in the magazine and one in the pipe as a start mags, 20 rounds reloadable in a "140mm legal" magazine. Fianlly we will be off to the races...
A new simple effective base pad locking system caps off the new design.
Should be ready to go in about 4 weeks.
